Pudu Robotics Introduces PUDU DH11: An 11-DOF Five-Fingered Dexterous Hand for Enhanced Robotic Performance
Published on  Updated on

Pudu Robotics, a global leader in the service robotics sector, has announced the launch of the PUDU DH11, an 11-degree-of-freedom (DOF) dexterous hand designed to elevate object manipulation capabilities for specialized, semi-humanoid, and humanoid robots. Following the release of the semi-humanoid PUDU D7, this innovation from the Pudu X-Lab represents a milestone in precision robotics, enabling robots to execute complex tasks with greater accuracy and efficiency.

The PUDU DH11 features a human-like five-finger configuration, 11 degrees of freedom, and 12 tactile sensing areas, allowing it to perform a wide range of tasks akin to human hands. Lightweight and agile, the hand also includes robust and extensive touch coverage on the palm, four fingers, and thumb. These capabilities enable Pudu Robotics' products equipped with the PUDU DH11 to utilize various tools, operate in diverse environments, handle intricate tasks, and foster more engaging and meaningful human-robot interactions.

Key Features of the PUDU DH11:

  • Lightweight and Flexible: The PUDU DH11 utilizes a biomimetic hand structure with a cable-driven system and underactuated mechanisms, resulting in a lightweight design and compact spatial footprint. This enables superior flexibility and compliance compared to conventional designs, allowing the hand to seamlessly perform gripping, pinching, twisting, pulling, pushing, pressing, grabbing, and lifting actions.

  • Extensive Touch Coverage: With 12 tactile sensing areas and 1,018 tactile sensor pixels, the PUDU DH11 delivers precise feedback during object interactions. These sensors enhance the hand's ability to execute tasks accurately and safely while interacting with its environment.

  • Durability and Strength: Built with multi-strand integrated steel cables, the PUDU DH11 offers excellent resistance to wear and tensile stress, with a maximum single-hand lifting capacity of up to 40kg. Its simplified cable structure ensures water and dust resistance, reduces maintenance costs, and supports operation in challenging environments.

Following the release of its semi-humanoid robot, PUDU D7, in September, the PUDU DH11 underscores Pudu Robotics' ongoing commitment to technological innovation in robotics. This advancement will enable robots of various configurations to tackle more sophisticated and delicate tasks across a wide range of industries.

Pudu Robotics remains steadfast in its customer-centric approach, continuously enhancing the mobility, operational, and AI capabilities of its robots to address diverse client needs. With a strong emphasis on innovation and reliability, the company aims to accelerate the deployment of multipurpose service robots across industries such as F&B, retail, hospitality, industrial sectors, healthcare, education, elderly care, and public services, helping businesses achieve smarter and more efficient solutions.
